A new festival devoted to emerging fashion should see the light of day in Montreal next year. While waiting for it to be held, the young fashion collective Fashion Freaks is organizing an event on August 14, combining pop-up shops, fashion shows and DJ performances.
After two such events organized last year, the collective, which was founded in 2021, will give a third taste of its future festival in a room in the SmartCenters Montreal shopping center (Décarie). Thirty brands will be present, mainly fashion designers street wearsporty and clothing from upcycling.
The collective wishes to create a new crossroads between fashion, art and music. “We see a growing need for exhibition space for young designers who are unfortunately not invited to participate in the other more well-known fashion festivals in Montreal,” says Léna Le Guen, a graduate in fashion marketing from the School. Graduate of Fashion from UQAM and co-founder of Fashion Freaks.
Each designer will present their creative universe during a parade to the sound of Montreal DJs Laura Scavo, Andrea de Tour and Mandiz.
August 14, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., at 5475, rue des Jockeys, Montreal. Pre-sale tickets cost $10.
