A Nintendo Direct scheduled for this week … but not the one we expected

Nintendo announces a direct Nintendo dedicated to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to celebrate the start of summer.

While video game announcement season is nearly over, there are studios we’re still waiting to hear from. This is particularly the case of Nintendo, which has been extremely discreet in recent weeks, at least until now. While several rumors predicted the arrival of a Nintendo Direct in the coming days, the firm officially announced it for this Wednesday, June 22.

Surprisingly, however, this is not the one we expected. Far from being a conference worthy of E3, this Nintendo Direct will only be devoted to a single game: Xenoblade Chronicles 3. From 4 p.m. tomorrowfans of the franchise will be able to discover more about this game during the twenty minutes that the event will last… while the rest of the players will patiently wait their turn.

Obviously, this announcement remains good news because we will learn more about a title that is still more or less expected, but it dims our hopes of having a real conference before the end of June. However, Nintendo has many things to show, especially on highly anticipated releases such as Metroid Prime 4, Bayonetta 3, the next Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hopeor Live A Live.

Despite everything, nothing is decided, and Nintendo could very well organize two Direct one week apart, as unlikely as this hypothesis. If the rumors are going strong, we’ll have to wait for a confirmation from the studio, so it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled for the next few days.
