(Toronto) Barrick Gold said Tuesday that its gold production for the year 2022 had been lower than its forecast.
The gold company produced 4.14 million ounces, according to preliminary data released for the year. It had planned to produce 4.20 million ounces.
Preliminary copper production data points to a total of 440 million pounds, which is in line with its forecast of between 420 million and 470 million pounds.
Barrick’s preliminary fourth quarter results show the sale of 1.11 million ounces of gold and 99 million pounds of copper, while production for the last quarter of 2022 totals 1.12 million. ounces of gold and 96 million pounds of copper.
According to Barrick, the average market price for gold in the fourth quarter was US$1,726 per ounce, while copper was US$3.63 per pound.
Barrick Gold will release its full fourth quarter and full year results on February 15, before North American markets open.
