Finally a victory for the Lakers!

On the night of Sunday to Monday, if the Los Angeles Lakers won their first victory of the season, the Golden State Warriors, defending champions, again suffered defeat.

The Lakers finally hold it! After a nightmarish start to the year marked by five straight losses to start, one of the two franchises in Los Angeles signed its first victory of the season and is somewhat smiling again. At the Arena, on the night of Sunday to Monday, the Californians dominated the Denver Nuggets (121-110), thanks in particular to an end to the meeting smoothly conducted. Indeed, on the move, the teammates of Serbian Nikola Jokic (23 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists), well supported by Jamal Murray (21 points) and Aaron Gordon (18 points and 6 rebounds), have long made life difficult for the Darvin Ham players. But, in their lair, the Lakers were able to count on a very good LeBron James (26 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists), as well as on Anthony Davis (23 points and 15 rebounds), back after missing the loss to Minnesota (111-102). Once again off the bench, Russell Westbrook (18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists) was also interesting on the floor. Thanks to this victory, LA no longer has the worst record in the NBA and will be keen to continue this momentum in a few days when they receive the New Orleans Pelicans, winners of the Clippers a little earlier this Sunday (91-112 ).

A back-to-back to forget for the Warriors

At the start of the season, the defending champion is still looking for himself. Indeed, the day after a defeat on the floor of the Charlotte Hornets (120-113, ap), Golden State chained a second loss in a row last night. Traveling to Michigan to challenge the Detroit Pistons, the Warriors were surprised again during this back-to-back (128-114). At Little Caesars Arena, if Stephen Curry (32 points and 6 rebounds) and Jordan Poole (30 points) showed great things, they were too alone and could not do anything against Cade Cunningham (23 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists) and his own. After a good first quarter (37-29), the Californians did not last the distance and then ran after the score throughout the match, without being able to afford an incredible comeback on arrival. Following this surprise defeat against Detroit, it is now four defeats in seven games for Steve Kerr’s team, which therefore displays a surprisingly negative balance sheet while the NBA season has started for two weeks now. In a few days, the Warriors are expected at the FTX Arena to challenge the Miami Heat, which will not be a cakewalk.
