Nearly 5,000 Hydro-Quebec subscribers have been without power in the Centre-Sud district of Montreal since 8:53 a.m. Monday morning.
It was a gas leak that forced the interruption of the current, the time that the emergency teams intervened. The supply of a complete power line had to be cut, said a spokesperson for Hydro-Quebec.
The leak, which was plugged around 12:15 p.m., was caused by excavation work on the sewer system, reveals a spokesperson for Énergir.
The restoration of electricity is scheduled for 1 p.m.
