Milwaukee takes the lead, Memphis remains hopeful

Already in the lead after Game 1 and Game 3, Milwaukee regained the advantage (3-2) in their semi-final against Boston on Wednesday by overthrowing Boston (110-107) after a sumptuous comeback. In the other game of the evening, Memphis inflicted on Golden State the heaviest defeat in its history (134-95). The Grizzlies thus return to 3-2 in the series while the Warriors are still one more successful qualification.

Again Milwaukee ahead. Already in the lead (1-0) after match 1 and match 3 (2-1), the Bucks once again regained the advantage in the semi-final of the Eastern Conference which opposes them to Boston by winning Wednesday on the floor of the Celtics (110-107), and this for the second time in the series. The defending champions however suffered for a long time on the floor of the TD Garden during this match 5. Hero of the evening, the superstar of the Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo, author of 40 points and 11 rebounds, even estimated afterwards that this stunning success of his team, still trailing by 14 points ten minutes from the end, certainly owed “a bit of everything”, but also to “a bit of luck”. It owes above all to the superb reaction at the end of the match from the men of Wisconsin, who were definitively taken back in front thanks to their leader but also to two of the other locomotives of the team Jrue Holiday and Bobby Portis.

Memphis revives

In the other Game 5 on the evening’s program, between Memphis and Golden State, there was no suspense, however. While the Warriors could validate their ticket in the event of another victory, Wednesday in Memphis, they suffered against Desmond Bane (21 points) and his heaviest defeat in their history (134-95). And this while the probable package of Ja Morant for the rest of the play-offs suggested that the Grizzlies no longer had any chance of upsetting the Warriors. This humiliation (the locals were up to 55 points ahead) proved the opposite. And at the dawn of Game 6, Friday in San Francisco, Memphis can once again dream of bringing down Stephen Curry (14 points Wednesday) and his gang.
