New generation in journalism | La Presse launches its summer internships

The newsroom of The Press will host six journalists and a photojournalist for paid internships in the summer of 2022. Four internships will be reserved for people from diverse backgrounds.

“This is a unique opportunity for young aspiring journalists to learn the trade in a stimulating environment, alongside experienced reporters and columnists,” says Jean-François Bégin, Senior Director, Information, himself a graduate of the internship program. of The Press.

These internships allow trainees to practice in one of the most innovative newsrooms. This is an opportunity to work in a real environment, to learn the basics of journalism or photography and to publish articles or photos on one of our many platforms.

The internships will begin in June for a period of eight weeks. Our journalists will supervise the trainees. The Press thus reconnects with its tradition of summer internships. Isabelle Hachey, Rima Elkouri, Maxime Bergeron, Chantal Guy, Ariane Lacoursière and Alexandre Pratt all started out as interns.

The application period ends on April 8.
