The new adventures of Link and Zelda promise an amazing experience according to the Japanese manufacturer.

After Breath of the Wild in 2017, the hero of the Triforce finally signs his return in a long-awaited sequel. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on Nintendo Switch on May 12 and already promises an ever-expanding adventure. Now the skies of Hyrule open up to the hero with new powers. Despite the many shared excerpts, several details about this opus are still well kept.

Like its elder, this sequel will have made fans wait. Now that the wait is coming to an end, the hype is at its height, but a small detail is bothering some players. In the United States, the title has the highest price for a Nintendo Switch game so far, with a price of $69.99. This symbolic bar had already been reached in Europe with games sold for €69.99 since the launch of the console. As with the increases at Sony and Xbox, the manufacturer justifies the increase by the “quality of experience players can expect“.

The most ambitious Zelda yet?

In an interview with APNews, Nintendo of America CEO Doug Bowser has spoken about the price of Tears of the Kingdom. The increase does not come from nowhere and is in no way justified by the current economic context. The big boss is categorical: it is not a price that we will apply to all our titles” he reassures.

If he relies on the fact that this tariff is already practiced in Europe or in the rest of the world, he explains that this sudden increase is justified for a completely different reason. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a massive game that took a lot more effort than usual.

The weight of the game on the American store already shows 18.2 gigs, the largest files for a Switch game to date. But according to Doug Bowser, players cannot visualize what awaits them. In particular, he thinks that fans will find an incredibly comprehensive and deeply immersive experience.” For him, “the price reflects the quality of experience players can expect when playing this particular title”.

To have the heart net joysticks in hand, it will be necessary to wait until May 12th. It only remains to hope that this adventure is up to Breath of the Wild. Hopefully, this scenario will bring more details to the incredible universe of Skyward Sword, previously reissued on Switch.
