players are starting to get reimbursed

The new Purple and Scarlet versions continue to be talked about in the face of gameplay instability and problems encountered.

The launch of Pokemon Purple and Scarlet is far from unanimous. Even if the players all agree that this is a great revolution in terms of the adventure offered, the state of the game leaves something to be desired. Graphical bugs, loss of frames per second or even the overall quality of visuals are all concerns that lead players to sound the alarm (rightly so). Despite the dose of fun that these versions can bring, their lack of finishes have propelled them to the bottom. Of all the games, these are the lowest rated even though they offer a controlled open world experience.

However, after the anger on social media, Nintendo will now have to deal with a wave of enraged gamers. Following this first weekend of play, some have already started asking for refunds. While it is normally impossible to succeed when a game does not live up to expectations, the Japanese manufacturer is already making exceptions. Scandal Cyberpunk 2077 Nintendo-style is starting to gain momentum on Reddit.

A game far from over

Players who purchased the latest Game Freak via the Nintendo eShop did not hesitate to plead their case with customer service. Among the arguments put forward, the multitude of bugs affecting the gameplay at each stage of the game is difficult to deny. Faced with concrete evidence, Nintendo would have started to grant refunds without complaining. At least that’s what they say some of Reddit users who invite the rest of the community to do the same to shake up the Pokémon Company:

I got a refund from Violet on the eShop last night after realizing the game is not in a state I consider tolerable for a AAA game. The customer service representative told me that given the situation regarding the condition of Pokémon Scarlet and Purple, she was going to escalate my case to make sure the refund was approved. I received it an hour later.

Other more resentful users are even calling for a boycott of the franchise to change things. “Many of you will go out and defend this franchise until you die. But can you seriously look this game straight in the eye and tell me it was their best effortexclaims Jaded_Goth in a post on Reddit.

In some cases, Nintendo’s customer service seems more reluctant and is still waiting for the situation to change before offering a refund. If you are disappointed with the game, you can therefore try to win your case if you bought the game in dematerialized form. Otherwise, it is always possible to wait and see if this scandal pushes Game Freak and the Pokémon Company to optimize the game and repair it from top to bottom via updates.
