PS1 games reveal themselves a little more

A handful of PS1 games have just dug up a series of trophies right at the launch of PlayStation Plus.

On May 23, Sony made the new PlayStation Plus formulas available in Asia. If in a few days it will be the Japanese and the Americans who will be able to enjoy it, it will also be our turn soon, in a month from now. A few days ago, Sony unveiled the first list of games that would be available in the catalog, including some of the so-called “classic” titles from previous PlayStation consoles.

With the release of the service in Asia, a few other games seem to have leaked and could therefore also be playable in a few weeks in France. These are the titles Siphon Filter: IQ Intelligent Qube, Hot Shots Golf, Ape Escapeand Wild Arms, who find a technical sheet on the PlayStation Store as well as a listing in the trophies section. If this does not mean that they will be present in the catalog, it remains a rather good clue.

A non-exhaustive list

As a reminder, PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP games will only be available with the Premium plan, which is displayed at the most expensive price. You can subscribe to it for €16.99 per month, €49.99 per quarter or €119.99 per year and can benefit from a catalog of more than 700 games as well as game streaming, in addition to all the advantages of less expensive formulas. As for PS games, here’s the short list Sony shared:

  • Ape Escape | Japan Studio, original PlayStation
  • Everybody’s Golf | Japan Studio, original PlayStation
  • Kurushi | Japan Studio, original PlayStation
  • Jumping Flash! | Japan Studio, original PlayStation
  • Siphon Filter | Bend Studio, original PlayStation
  • Mr Driller | Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., original PlayStation

For those who do not wish to invest so much in their subscription, know that the PlayStation Plus Essential is exactly the same plan as the one currently offered, that it still gives you access to free downloadable games each month and allows you to play online on multiplayer games. The Extra subscription gives you access to a catalog of 400 PS4 and PS5 games. Something to satisfy everyone.
