Razer Iskur test, the chair for average builders

Published

on

Razer has declined its gaming chair in several finishes and here is our opinion on the fabric version of the Razer Iskur.

When we think of Razer, we necessarily think of mice and keyboards but not only since Razer has diversified for some time and offers all kinds of products related to the world of gaming. Lately, we have been treated to new products that are as surprising as they are useful. We are thinking in particular of connected glasses, the Razer Anzu, connected watches in collaboration with Fossil or even an anti-COVID mask, the Razer Zephyr.

Now positioned as a lifestyle gaming brand, we received a test of one of the American manufacturer’s gaming chairs, the Razer Iskur in its fabric version. Clearly positioned in the high end of gaming chairs, the Razer Iskurwhich was launched at the end of 2020 and which has since been available in several versions such as the fabric version we are testing or a more accessible Iskur X version.

Presentation

For those who haven’t followed everything, a gaming chair is above all a chair whose ergonomics have been studied so that the user can use the chair for many hours. And when you discover the Razer Iskur for the first time, the first thing you notice is this very Razer-specific design that does not give the impression of having a generic chair with which we have just changed the brand.

The fabric finish of our test version is excellent. There is not a seam that protrudes and we discover embroidered patterns of the most beautiful effect like the brand logo at the level of the head. It’s a set of small details that gives this impression of quality. On our side, we prefer fabric to imitation leather, especially when it’s hot. We’ll see how we do this summer. If the fabric will be more lenient with perspiration, we are however afraid that it could stain the chair from the inside but we think that this will not happen for some time since the fabric is resistant to splashes.

Designed to accommodate users with a weight of up to 136kg and a height between 1.70m and 1.90m, the Razer Iskur is not a light chair. The second thing we discover is that the width of the seat is not particularly large and it will be necessary to try it before adopting it. Some will not necessarily appreciate this bucket side but it should be noted when buying.

The famous lumbar support

Our model did not come with a headrest. If we cursed a little at the beginning, it’s not so bad in the end. On the other hand, on the Razer Iskur, there is no lumbar cushion which can slip with use. Here, we are in the presence of a lumbar zone which is an integral part of the seat and my god it’s comfortable for our lower back. It’s the kind of chair where you can limit your back by taking out the support to its maximum. Now, we will not advise you to take it out too much, otherwise your pelvis will come out a little too much.

The armrests can be adjusted in height, backwards or forwards and finally laterally on the side to bring the armrests closer to your body or not. On the other hand, we found it a shame not to be able to adjust them to the left or to the right. We know that some competitors offer it, for example, and if we hadn’t seen the benefit of it at the start, it’s rather practical on a daily basis.
