RedMagic 8 Pro, powerful and stylish for mobile gamers
Nubia wanted to be the first with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, so here is the RedMagic 8 Pro, a new smartphone for gamers on the move.
While the world is still in the middle of the holiday season, Nubia has just announced in China its brand new smartphone for mobile gamers. Here is the brand new Red Magic 8 Pro and according to the Chinese manufacturer, it wants to be the ” King of the performance of Android smartphones.
Also, we find the new SoC of Qualcommthe Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which was just announced barely a month ago. But that’s not all since we find internal memory UFS 4.0a first, and RAM LPDDR5x and above all a new design that contrasts with its predecessors and which is, we find, very successful for a gaming smartphone.
The announcement currently concerns China but Nubia has already announced that the international version will be formalized on January 16 and yes, France is concerned. We remind you that Nubia is aimed at an audience who knows exactly what they want, who are looking for the best possible performance for gaming. Anyone who hesitates with a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, a Google Pixel 7 Pro or an Oppo Find X5 Pro is clearly not the target.
Features of RedMagic 8 Pro
As we said earlier in the introduction, Nubia wants its smartphone to be the “King” of performance. Also, the manufacturer has put the odds on its side and we find high-end characteristics with a SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 (we are talking about improved performance of around 42% in GPU, 50% less energy-consuming), 8GB or 12GB of RAM in LPDDR5x, 256GB or 512GB of internal memory in UFS 4.0 (faster and better accesses of the order of 100%).
There is also the Red Core 2, a dedicated processor for managing triggers, vibrations, the tactile part in play or even sounds in real time. As you would expect for a gaming smartphone, the RedMagic 8 Pro packs an impressive 6000mAh battery, wired fast charging support up to 165W, allowing it to recharge in less than 13 minutes. Note that it will be delivered with a charger of “only” 80W.
A new design and a new screen
But that’s not all. With a brand new design, more sober and more elegant compared to the 7 Pro and 7S Pro, the RedMagic 8 Pro offers a 6.8-inch screen that occupies no less than 93.7% of the front surface. This results in relatively thin bezels (1.48mm on the sides, 1.68mm on the top and 2.28mm on the bottom). Associated with this screen, there is a camera under the screen. This camera, invisible to the naked eye, allows you to enjoy a full screen.
Finally, note the integration of a new cooling system with an integrated fan. Here is the ICE 11 technology which incorporates a fan capable of rotating at 20,000 rpm, which reduces the temperature in the smartphone by 2.7°C, in addition to the liquid cooling integrated under the screen.
Of course we find 5G, Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 7. On the photo side, we find a block composed of 3 cameras, a main wide-angle with a 50 Megapixel sensor, an ultra wide-angle of 8 Megapixels and a 2 Megapixel Macro.
We finish on the size of 165.98×76.35×8.9mm for a weight of 228g. And finally we note stereo speakers, 3 microphones, support for DTS Ultra X and a 3.5mm jack
Prices and Availability
Available now in China, it will take from 3999 yuan or 550 euros. For France, the international version will be announced on January 16 for availability from the end of January.
