Technical glitches caused connection problems for investors on the Toronto Stock Exchange, the Venture Exchange and the Alpha Exchange, spokeswoman Catherine Kee said.
The market was in a pre-open state until 11:10 a.m. when trading activity resumed.
The benchmark S&P TSX Composite Index on the Toronto floor rose more than 100 points to 19,535.00 points when trading resumed.
TMX Group had experienced an outage in February 2020 due to a systems capacity issue attributed to high trading volume in the early days of the pandemic. Another outage in 2018 was caused by a hardware issue.
