the 5 games to offer at Christmas this year

You want to offer a video game but don’t know which one to choose? Here are the 5 PlayStation games to put under the tree in 2022.

God of War Ragnarok

It’s probably the game of the year as far as we’re concerned, so we can only warmly recommend it as a Christmas present. God of War Ragnarok is one of the most touching and well-executed adventures you’ll find on the console. We follow the adventures of Kratos, the god of war, and his son Atreus as the world of the gods Ases prepares for Ragnarök.

Of course, you have to have played God of War (2018) to understand a minimum of what it returns in this opus. If this is the case for your recipient, then this suite is a must-have gift this year. Especially since a custom DualSense controller accompanies the release of the game and this could also be an excellent Christmas present.

Horizon Forbidden West

Another adventure game that is hard to pass up. Horizon Forbidden West is the long-awaited sequel toHorizon Zero Dawn (which we advise you to discover if you haven’t already done so). Aloy is therefore back to save humanity once again when it is threatened by strange beings, as if from another time.

Its open world, its graphics beyond realism as well as its rich and free gameplay will surely appeal to any player fond of adventure. Note that a handmade box with the two games, as well as the DLC Frozen Wilds is not to be excluded if you have a bigger budget.

Gran Turismo 7

Motorsport enthusiasts always appreciate a good driving sim when one comes along. Released earlier this year, Gran Turismo 7 intends to rise above the others with an opus that is both nostalgic and at the cutting edge of technology. In our test, we found it so good that it hooked us into a genre generally overlooked by the general public.

In this title, you can drive many legendary cars on circuits as legendary as Le Mans, to name a few. New models are regularly added through free updates, the person you give this game to will never be short of content.

stray

This game is literally made for cat fans. stray – which means alley cat – puts you in the shoes of a small feline, alone and lost in a mysterious post-apocalyptic world. You will live your adventure at his height as he desperately has to find a way to join his friends. While doing so, you will learn more about the current state of the world and how such a tragedy could shake humanity.

In addition to being incredibly engaging, this game is perfect for those who never have time to play since it can be completed in an afternoon. It is also very beautiful, immersive and easy to pick up. Find our test right here.

A Plague Tale: Requiem

We end this selection with another sequel that has been talked about at the end of the year. After an opus called Innocence, A Plague Tale Requiem returns with an even darker and murderous atmosphere which makes us say that it is the opus of maturity. Far from the standards of classic horror games, the title immerses you in a guided adventure in the heart of the Middle Ages.

The Black Death reigns, and Amicia must help her little brother Hugo understand his special powers… which are affecting his health. Although it is a game with agonizing gameplay, A Plague Tale Requiem suitable for even the most delicate audiences, unless you have a phobia of rats. You will thus find a universe and endearing characters, all in a game that is very pleasing to the eye.

A few other suggestions

If these 5 suggestions haven’t convinced you – or your recipient already owns all of these games – here are some other helpful recommendations. Two years after its release, the console is now full of incredible titles, here is a non-exhaustive list:
