The end of the year is loaded with releases and video game fans no longer know where to turn. Here are 5 games not to be missed!

October has just begun, and it brings with it the fall festivities. With so many longing for Halloween and its gruesome atmosphere, gamers around the world had a busy schedule ahead of them. Throughout the month of October, video game releases will follow one another, whether they are future blockbusters or independent nuggets. We take stock of 5 arrivals not to be missed!

A Plague Tale: Requiem

Available from October 18 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

The long-awaited sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence is coming to our devices soon. Hugo and Amicia return to service while the two young people are still being pursued by the Inquisition. The young hero still has to deal with his new abilities, which allow him to control rats in the midst of the Black Death. His big sister must manage their fragile relationship and try to understand what is really going on with Hugo’s powers.

A story that immerses us in the heart of medieval France with a more than captivating immersion. Developed by Asobo Studio, this second opus intends to extend the bases of the franchise and make us explore more sets, more exotic in Requiem that in Innocence. Note that the game will also be available in the Xbox Game Pass catalog this month.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope

Available from October 20 on Nintendo Switch.

Another sequel we can’t wait to discover! Mario and his band, as well as the Rabbids will return to service to save the universe from the evil force Cursa. This aims to consume all the Sparks, an objective that our heroes will hasten to hinder. And to get there, unity will once again be strength. You will have to compose your team of three characters, from a selection of 9 playable protagonists.

Your adventure will take you to all corners of the universe, so you’ll have to explore multiple planets with diverse and varied environments and enemies. You’ll still be dealing with turn-based battles, so strategy will be in order…as well as fun for this game that already promises to be completely crazy.

Gotham Knights

Available from October 25 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

If you are a fan of superheroes and/or the DC Comics universe, Gotham Knights should catch your eye. In this open-world action RPG, you have the opportunity to embody one of the heroes of the Bat-family after the death of its founder. Batman is no longer there and crime is picking up again, so it’s your turn to try to stem it.

To do this, you can take control of Robin, Red Hood, Batgirl or Nightwing, and do your adventure solo or with several in co-op. The goal will be to rid the 5 districts of Gotham City of their hoodlums and other organized criminals.

saturnalia

Available from October 27 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

This title sticks rather well with the arrival of the Halloween festivities and will suit players who are not afraid. Based on the pagan festivals of Saturnalia, this survival game with rogue-lite mechanics transports you to the island of Sardinia at the time of the winter solstice. At this time of year, strange rituals take place right in the heart of the labyrinthine cave of Gravoi.

Throughout your adventure, you will have to investigate what is happening and solve puzzles that will lead you ever further into the abyss of secrecy. We particularly like the graphics of saturnalia who play with our emotions in the scariest of ways.

Bayonetta 3

Available from October 28 on Nintendo Switch.

We end this incredible selection with the return of an iconic franchise, in the image of a heroine more than expected for Halloween. The witch most loved by geeks makes its comeback on Switch in a Bayonetta 3 already promising. Fights and a lot of sensuality are on the program of this action title that will open the doors of the multiverse.

Indeed, during your journey, you will come across several alternative Bayonettas that will display more or less different styles and skills, but still just as salient. Fans of the license will however be delighted to find certain mythical elements, such as the witch’s quilts or her two devastating pistols which, combined with her time manipulation talents, will lead you straight to victory.

And many others…

As said before, October is extremely busy this year, so there will be plenty more releases to look out for over the next four weeks. We think in particular of Overwatch 2, which will be playable from October 4th around the world. Despite the hell that its transition to free-to-play has in store for us, there is no doubt that the title will find a place of choice among fans of online games.

If we stay on the side of shooters, the next Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will also be from October 28, while the new iteration of Warzone will be playable from November. Finally, always with the approach of Halloween, you will be able to discover the indie game Signalis from October 27th.
