While the sequel to Breath of the Wild is long overdue, the voice work has already begun and an Italian voice actor is leaking some details.
“Mamma mia!” as Mario would say. It seems like the first spoiler of the next Zelda game has just dropped after an awkwardness on the part of an Italian dubber of the game.
Following The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is not yet ready for 2022 and will finally arrive on our Nintendo Switch consoles next year as we reported here.
However, this future game withfull dubbing as had been the case for the first episode, voice production for this one has already begun. The dubbers lending their voices to the characters of the game then begin to have access to the dialogues of their role and can begin to get an idea of what is going on in the narration of the future opus.
In the world of video games, dubbing is not done by lip synchronization as could be the case for a film dubbing in French. The recording is done from a script and voice directions, but no image is broadcast. The dialogues are also not recorded in order, so voice actors are often lost and have no information to share.
But this time, an Italian voice actor from the sequel to Breath of the Wild let out non-trivial information in an interview with Lega Hyrulea fan YouTube channel.
If you continue reading this article: watch out for spoilers!
A return to the past?
The flight comes to us from Pietro Ubaldi, the Italian dubber of the character of Daruk, the prodigy of the Goron tribe in the first episode. During the interview conducted by Lega Hyrule, Pietro revealed that he had returned for the role of Daruk, but not only…
The voice actor explains that he also lends his voice to an ancestor of Daruk whose name he does not remember. Real oversight or simple respect of an NDA (non-disclosure agreement), he however clarified that the ancestor in question was not Darunia, the goron of Ocarina of Time.
Although this does not provide a precise clue as to the narrative content of the next episode of the Legend of Zelda, it is already possible to make some speculations as to what awaits us.
Since Daruk appears in flashbacks in the first episode and then manifests as a spirit from beyond, will the situation be similar in the sequel due next year? Like Breath of the Wild 2 seems to introduce a new ancestor, a time travel mechanic could then be at the heart of the story of the future game.
Series producer Eiji Aonuma announced that this sequel will not only take place on the ground but also in the skies of Hyrule. A situation that is reminiscent Skyward Sword the origin of the Zelda games timeline. The wild lands of Breath of the Wild will they then undergo a return to the past and see part of its territory return to heaven?
It’s time for speculation while we wait for new details that should arrive soon since the game will be released next year on Nintendo Switch.
