The Warriors are almost there, Utah badly embarked

Again winner of Denver (118-113), Thursday in Colorado during game 3, Golden State is only one success away from the semi-finals of the Western Conference. Thanks to its first victory in Utah (126-118) for six years, Dallas leads for the first time in the series against the Jazz of Rudy Gobert while the return of Luka Doncic is looming. Memphis also took the advantage at the cost of a magnificent comeback on the floor of Wolves (104-95).

It smells good for Golden State, much less for Minnesota and especially Utah. Again worn by Stephen Curry, Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson (27 points for the first two, 26 for the third), authors of 80 points of their team’s 118 points in this game 3 (they had scored 84 in game 2 ), the Warriors again dominated (118-113) Denver, this time on the floor of the Nuggets. Despite the efforts of MVP Nikola Jokic (37 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists), still excellent but again far too alone to curb the momentum of the Dub Nation, Golden State is thus only one victory away from qualifying.

Dallas is not there yet. On the other hand, the Mavericks’ second straight victory, Thursday night at Utah (126-118), may sound like a premature exit from the road for the Jazz and Rudy Gobert, author of 15 points in this meeting (6 out of 6 on shots). The Salt Lake City players have indeed confirmed once again that the French pivot was right to worry about the fate of his team, especially since Luka Doncic was missing again in this third meeting which allowed Jalen Brunson, author of 31 points (Donovan Mitchell, author of 32 points Thursday, finished top scorer of the match), to strike a blow again.

Utah in a mess

Unfortunately for Utah, Doncic could find his team in Game 4, again on the floor of the EnergySolutions Arena. Anything but good news for the Jazz, led for the first time in the series. Like Dallas, Memphis took the lead too. The first game of the series between the Grizzlies and Minnesota at the Wolves has indeed given rise to an incredible comeback by Desmond Bane (26 points) and his teammates, led at a time by 26 points but ultimately winners (104-95) at the cost of an incredible comeback against Wolves by a tiny Karl Anthony Towns (8 points, 5 rebounds , 1 pass in 33 minutes). Ja Morant, another main architect of this crazy comeback from Memphis, offered himself a triple-double (16 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists).
