“Thousands of dollars” | Man wanted for two robberies at same pharmacy



The Gatineau police are actively seeking the public’s help in locating a man who is responsible for two thefts committed in one week at the same pharmacy. Thousands of dollars were allegedly stolen.

It was on February 24, around 9 a.m., that the first theft occurred in a Proxim group pharmacy, located on Maloney Boulevard East. A second flight then took place a few days later, on 1er March around 6 p.m., in the same establishment.

Each time, the modus operandi was “similar” according to the authorities, who released images of the criminal from surveillance cameras on Thursday.

During the first robbery, “the suspect entered the pharmacy and immediately went to the prescription counter demanding cash and tablets of a specific medication, a narcotic painkiller,” Gatineau police said. , stating that the suspect also allegedly “threatened the victim” and claimed to “have a gun in his pocket”

Then, during the second robbery, the man “moved directly behind the pharmaceutical services counter and filled his backpack with medication himself,” note the investigators. In both cases, the suspect quickly left the scene on foot, after recovering his loot. This totals “thousands of dollars”, according to the police force.


According to a description provided by the police on Thursday, the wanted man is of “average build”, speaks French, is about 1.70 meters tall and weighs about 77 kilograms, or 170 pounds.

At the time of the first flight, on February 24, he was wearing an olive green coat, a blue-gray hoodie with a red-orange logo on the front, brown boots with white soles and black gloves. A few days later, on the second flight, however, he wore a dark-colored coat with a white logo on the right sleeve, a blue-gray hoodie under his coat, black pants with a white design and a backpack. “Element” brand.
