Ubisoft announces “Project Q” its future Fortnite competitor



After leaks and rumours, Ubisoft takes the lead and formalizes its new online game project.

The online games industry continues to make its way, and as always, Ubisoft is trying to find a place in this endless race.

After the bitter failure of their attempt at a battle royale Hyperscape which will close its doors on April 28, a decision that occurred only 18 months after its official release, Ubisoft arrives with a new online game project.

Currently titled Project Qthe game had already pointed the tip of its nose even before being announced, via a leaked short gameplay video of a very rudimentary version.

A clever mix between Fortnite and Overwatch

But what can we expect from the program of this Project Q ?

No question for Ubisoft to recreate the errors ofHyperscape, and the studio will try to enter a new market here. The little information revealed so far (and the leaked video) seems to reveal a hybrid game between what Fortnite and Overwatch.

With a third-person view, the game will offer different heroes with various looks and skills that promise wild games.

Two game modes have been discovered, Showdown and Battle Zonewhich promise fights in teams of 2 or teams of 4 respectively.

The Showdown mode will be like a mini battle royale while the Battle Zone mode will be closer to the other game from which it is inspired, Overwatch, and will pit two teams of 4 against each other to take control of an area of ​​the map.

The Breton studio also wants to reassure players: NFTs have no place in the game ! Good news for the environment and players who still doubt this very special new market. A single watchword for Project Q: “the fun !
