    ๐Ÿ‘‹ About Us

We Print First. We Write Second.

Media World is a 3D printing resource built on actual bench time โ€” not press releases, not spec sheets copied from a manufacturer's page.

    How This Started

Media World grew out of a garage full of half-finished prints and a growing pile of notes on what actually worked. After enough failed calibration prints, burnt-out hot ends, and hours spent parsing conflicting advice online, it became clear that most 3D printing content falls into one of two traps: it's either too surface-level to be useful, or so technical it assumes you already know the answer.

We built Media World to sit in the middle โ€” reviews backed by real print hours, troubleshooting written from genuine failures, and settings guides that have actually been run through a slicer and a printer before being published.

    Our Testing Setup

What's actually on the bench when we run a review.

    ๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ
A Rotating Fleet of Printers We keep several current-generation FDM and resin printers on hand so new reviews are benchmarked against machines we already know well.
    ๐Ÿ“
Digital Calipers & Filament Diameter Gauges Used to check real dimensional accuracy on test prints and confirm whether a spool's advertised tolerance actually holds up.
    ๐ŸŒก๏ธ
A Filament Dryer & Dry Boxes Keeps moisture out of the equation, so what we're testing is the material, not humidity in the room that day.
    ๐Ÿ“Š
A Standard Set of Torture-Test Models The same calibration cube, overhang test, and bridging test file run on every printer, so results are actually comparable across reviews.

    Who Writes This

    JE
    Jordan Ellis
Electrical Engineer — builds, repairs, and stress-tests desktop 3D printers

Jordan handles most of the testing and writing on Media World, pulling from an engineering background and years spent taking printers apart, fixing them, and pushing them past their rated specs to see where they actually break.

    Editorial Standards & Corrections

We update when we're wrong. Firmware changes, price shifts, and discontinued models happen constantly in this space. When we learn a guide or review is outdated, we update it and note the revision date.

We don't accept pay-for-placement reviews. Manufacturers can send us hardware to test, and we'll disclose that when it happens, but no payment or free product has ever bought a rating.

Spot something wrong? If you catch an error in one of our guides, tell us. We'd rather fix it than leave it published.

    What We Stand By

    โšก
Real-World Tested If we haven't run it through a printer ourselves, we don't publish a verdict on it.
    ๐ŸŽฏ
No Sponsored Bias We flag marketing claims that don't survive contact with a real print job.
    ๐Ÿ”“
Fully Independent A commission from a link never determines a rating.
    ๐Ÿ“Š
Data-Backed Reviews Specs get verified against actual performance, not just repeated.

    Questions About Media World

How do you decide what to review?

Mostly reader questions and what's actually selling well. If a printer or filament keeps coming up in comments and forums, it goes on the list.

Do you accept sponsored posts or paid reviews?

No. We'll test a unit a manufacturer sends us, and we'll say so, but the review itself follows the same rubric as anything we bought ourselves.

    How often is content updated?

Buying guides get revisited every few months since pricing and availability shift often. Technical guides get updated whenever something material changes, like a major slicer update.

Can I suggest a topic or ask for a specific review?

Yes โ€” that's genuinely how most of our review queue gets built. Reach out through the contact page.

    Still Stuck on Something?

Send us your question โ€” we usually reply within a day.
